This year you have a one loss LSU team. A team that stands poised to make another 2006 style last second leap for the BCS game, should all hell break loose. A team that still has an outside chance. LSU has an anemic offense and an amazing defense, but as they say defenses win championships. A little luck never hurt either, go ask the Vols. For now LSU sits on the outside of the big game at number 5. They will spend the holiday trying to beat Arkansas, but also rooting for Bama and Arizona. To win this game LSU needs to keep this a defensive struggle. Contain Mallet, and they can make it a low scoring game.
Arkansas has had a great season, but not the season they wanted. They had high hopes of an SEC championship, a big BCS game, perhaps a berth in the BCS national championship. But, Ryan Mallet and company couldn't deliver those things. Maybe it was a bit much to ask of the hogs just yet. A top ten finish would be a great season though. And sitting at 12 in the BCS poll, a win over LSU would get them there. To win this game Arkansas needs to make it a high scoring shootout. They need to force the LSU quarterbacks to throw the ball.
