On February 10th through the 13th, at the Malco Studio theater in Oxford Mississippi, history will be made. It is the premier of "25k": an action adventure like no other.
What will set this movie apart from all others? First, and most importantly, it is the acting debut of Houston Nutt Jr., son of Ole Miss head ball coach Houston Nutt. He kind of looks like a young Benicio Del Toro. Another exciting fact about the movie is that it was shot almost entirely in the Oxford, Mississippi area. I wonder if that gas station/chicken restaurant the Ole Miss folks love is featured?
The only real synopsis of the movie we could find states: "Two bail recovery agents encounter drug runners, corrupt cops, and other trouble when they find a treasure map promising $25,000." That has awesome written all over it. As someone who grew up in Mississippi, we can attest that stumbling on to treasure maps happens all the time. The movie's twitter account does not appear to have been updated since May, the website is also kind of useless Link. But that just means they will have to rely on word of mouth and Houston Nutt Jr.'s
All joking aside, good for Houston Jr. He is doing something exciting. Looks like he may follow his father's performance in "The Blind Side" rather than his performance on the football field. If any of our readers are in Oxford, email us at banditref@gmail.com We would love to have someone check this out and write a review for us.Give in to peer pressure
