When we think of Spring we think of one thing, baseball. Sure football will be over and we will all morn its passing. But we can't morn too long. This holiday season we need to be forward thinking. We have league baseball to prepare for. If your like us and planning on joining a softball league this year, take our advice. Number one, find your own bat. Easton-sv12 When you have your own bat you get comfortable with it. You find its sweet spot. And honestly it gives you a level of confidence when approaching the mound. Secondly get your gear now. Don't wait till spring to buy your gear. Get the gear your going to use now, and start practicing with it. You don't want to use your kids old wiffle bat to practice, then swap it out for an Easton-sv12 in March. Third get some cleats. Nike Baseball Cleats You won't intimidate anyone sliding into home with your Converse Chuck Taylors. Cleats will make a significant difference turning corners and making adjustments on the field. Again don't buy the cleats in March. Get them now, train in them, and break them in.
The same rules apply to your little leauger. If your kid is the teams catcher, then the perfect christmas gift is his own gear. Youth Catchers Gear He can't succeed wearing that used gear the coach brings. Let him practice in the gear with you at home. It will give him the same confidence having your own bat gave you. Speaking of, get the kid his own bat as well. Speaking from personal experience you hate to be that kid who uses the bat the coach brings. Meanwhile little Johnny has a bad ass tee ball bat. Take the kid out to practice with you. It will be good for both of you to get off the couch after a fall of football. It will make both of you feel great to spend time together. And practicing with your kid will help you sharpen up for that church league. Just don't let March sneak up on you.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. ~Rogers Hornsby
