Al.com is reporting some good, but not great, news for Auburn University. The FBI and state law enforcement had been wiretapping Auburn booster Milton McGregor over the past year. The wiretaps were in relation to a case of vote-buying in the Alabama legislator. McGregor owned several small bingo casinos and dog tracks in Alabama. McGregor wanted a positive vote on legalizing gambling in the state. The article from AL.com states that no evidence has been found in the wiretaps linking McGregor with Cam Newton. This is good news for Auburn.
Here is why it is not great. The TMZ article yesterday stated that the FBI was interested in talking with McGregor regarding the Cam Newton case. The article did not mention the wiretaps. So although this is good news. This does not explain or exonerate McGregor.
We will be honest with you on this. If this man is in any way connected to Cam, it is bad. It is super bad for Auburn University. We simply can not believe that a man who bribes a legislator has any moral problems paying a college football player. And look at the guy. A picture is worth a thousand words right?
We think the Auburn family needs to enjoy this good news. We don't know what news tomorrow will bring.
