Could Cam Newton Give Us a College Football Playoff?

With all the theories running around out there about Cam Newton one has been overlooked. Lets play a bit of what if. This is not a far off fantasy scenario. This is a real possibility. This is a 2010 version of the 2006 BCS champion USC Trojans.
Fall of Troy

Lets take a moment and assume that nothing will come of the Cam Newton scandal till after the season has ended. All the bowl games have been played. A BCS national champion has been named. Oregon and Auburn go to a national championship game. Auburn beats Orgeon and claims a national championship. After the game the NCAA comes out with a ruling. And all hell breaks loose.

If Auburn were to win the national championship, and then have it taken away, it could create the greatest crisis the BCS have ever confronted. The BCS could be faced with a one loss Oregon. A possible no loss Boise State and TCU. A LSU that would have only lost to Auburn. Who then do you pass the championship on to? Do you split the championship 4 ways?

We believe if such a scenario were to play out it could lead to the death of the BCS. You would end up with so many fan bases angry. Not to mention the inevitable media hoopla. And if you think the BCS heads haven't thought about this, well they have. We wonder what they are saying to the NCAA? What kind of pressure are they bringing to bear in this investigation?
