Cam Newton News Update

And so the pendulum swings. Two big developments in the Cam Newton case this afternoon. First the AL.com is reporting that wiretaps that were made against Milton McGregor do not show any evidence of contact with Cam Newton. This is certainly good news for Auburn. Milton McGregor was being wiretapped by the FBI for his role in a bribery scheme involving the Alabama legislature. McGregor is a long time booster to Auburn university.

The second piece of news is also good for Auburn. Although not as good. The Newton family attorney has broken his silence. The good news is that he says Cam has had no knowledge of any of this from the start. He also says that the Newton family has been completely honest and has cooperated with the NCAA investigation. What he doesn't say is that Cecil Newton didn't ask for money from Mississippi State.
